Everyday Mike Vekris Wedding Entertainment‘s team gets in touch with many brides. Most of them express different kinds of concerns in regards to the success of their special day, and more especially with the credibility of professionals who are thinking about choosing.
In order to help as much as possible all of you, who are preparing your wedding in Greece, here are a few tips. These tips are based on our many years of experience and on the “inside” knowledge we have on some specific issues. The following 4 rules are the most important thing you could follow and undoubtedly the best gift you could make to your wedding.
Rule #1. A Wedding Pro Knows. And Probably He/She Knows Better
There are many forums and groups in popular social media where a lot of unprocessed knowledge tips and suggestions about the preparation of the most wonderful and low cost are being released. Nevertheless, from our experience we have realized that the only person, who is able to help correctly, is a professional who deals with weddings daily. It is certain that the problem or the question that you are dealing with has been faced, or handled by a professional before and therefore they may guide you to the correct direction. The rest of the brides may share very useful opinions with you in many forums, though that doesn’t necessarily mean that all the opinions that you find on the internet are always the correct ones. There is always the possibility that some misinformation, assumption or hypothesis can lead you to wrong conclusions who can affect the happiest day of your life in a way that for sure you don’t want. So, next time that you have a concern, or you seek for a solution to a problem, just address first to the professionals. They know better.
Rule #2: Don’t disregard the fundamental issues of your wedding's success
A destination wedding in the greek islands, is expensive. However, this is something that shouldn’t discourage you from managing your budget correctly. Even if your budget isn’t very high, putting the right priorities and investing in important services you increase the possibility of creating an amazing experience for you and your guests. Some services that we would encourage you to be generous with are:
- A skilled Photographer (who will stay enough to cover the ceremony and at least a small part of the party)
- A good Videographer
- An open bar (at least during the party)
- And of course, a specialized, serious, professional DJ who will look like a serious professional and be trustworhty (not showing up with a t-shirt and a jockey hat for example, like his on his holidays)
Rule #3: Don’t do the job of the Wedding Planner
Wedding planners are often confused with the decorators. Even if someone is involved in both of the services or a combination of them it is a fact that he will benefit your wedding and your personal calmness. This means that (hiring, paying and) letting the wedding planner organize and plan your wedding with professional standards, will release an important amount of stress from you and it will contribute to the best course of the day.
What to avoidAvoid hiring a wedding planner only for the legal procedure or just for a few procedural details. There are many things before, during and after your wedding that need a calm, experienced and professional handling. Ask your wedding planner and they will guide you.
Rule #4: Choose wisely
Take your final decisions carefully. Seek information about the professionals you are hiring. Search for their previous projects, pay attention to their aesthetics, taste, style, flexibility, and experience. Don’t forget that high quality doesn’t always come in a low price and your wedding day shouldn’t be surrounded by low quality or mediocrity of any kind.
