Quick Bio

Mike was born and raised in Athens by Greek parents that were born abroad. His involvement with music started from a very young age and in that a great role played the fact that many of his relatives were professional musicians.

He studied classical piano and excelled in theory, harmony and history of music studies. When he finished High School, he continued his studies in the American College of Greece in the department of Information Technology. However, he never practiced the science of computers because music had won his heart early on in his life.

The Early Days

His career in music and entertainment started from small gigs in bars and clubs in Athens, while at the same time he was composing music for the television and the radio. Soon, he evolved enough to start his own project of private events and parties production, having on his side remarkable partners who shared the same vision and passion. The team was named: The Party Makers. With his companions, they toured all over Greece performing in various nightclubs, private parties, small events and festivals.

The Shift

The next step that is also the greatest shift in Mike’s course is his first contact with wedding events. It doesn’t take long for him to perform on his first weddings. The magic, the flexibility and the capability for expression that was given to him by the wedding receptions bewitched him. His future was likely to be changed from now on.

In the foreseeable future, he carried out one of the biggest projects in his career, the performance on particular circumferential events of the Olympic Games of China in August 2008. That long trip in Beijing for the Olympic Games backs him up with valuable experience and confidence, since the events that he took part in, succeed completely. At the same time, he continues to perform selectively in modern wedding events where he gains valuable experience and knowledge.

The Climax

At a certain point of time, the Party Makers project reaches its end. After the completion of this project, the collaborations in big projects become more and more, with the top moment being the road opening for him in the fashion industry. Famous brands like DKNY, Victoria’s Secret, Michael Kors and other companies included him in their international roasters. Touring all over the world for various Fashion Shows and after parties, Mike also found himself in strictly selected wedding receptions and private events. Just between these tours he also managed to perform twice on the Eurovision Song Contest after parties in Moscow (May 2009) and Oslo (May 2010). His international tour ends with his participation at the London Olympic Games in July 2012.

The Present

Lately he orientates his time along the management and development of the Mike Vekris Wedding Entertainment Project, while he continues to deliver interesting speeches in national conferences for wedding professionals and entertainers, like Wedding Circle and Wedding DJs Convention. He is also a founding member of the Hellenic Association of Event Professionals (H.A.E.P.)

Teaching Career

That great and wandering course, always reminded Mike the place where he started. His sensitive nature was the one that made the feeling of offering and mutual assistance always be intense in him. Therefore, from this stage forward, he is teaching the art of DJing to new and ambitious DJs that want to be guided correctly and responsibly during their first steps. In this day and age, he is still considered a main teaching executive of the DJ School Athens whereas in the past he had attended as an invited speaker in independent music schools, private schools, seminar centers and workshops.
