Anti-Covid English Wedding in Crete | Daisy & Peter

The summer of 2020 is undoubtedly the strangest we have ever had. Not just for us but for millions of people around the globe. One of the most difficult situations created by the covid-19 pandemic is the issues of organizing and conducting the weddings that were planned for this summer. In this story, we honor the heroic decision of Daisy and Peter to seal their love with a beautiful wedding in Crete in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic and the uncertainty that comes from it. And this is how the story of an anti-COVID English wedding in Crete unfolds.

The Original Plan

For us, the planning of Daisy and Peter’s wedding in Crete started in the fall of 2019. We were initially contacted by the Unique Wedding Concepts team, which had undertaken the planning and coordination of the wedding, who also provided us with a clear brief. The basic idea was a wedding with a strong traditional element and a relaxed style. Hence the very successful choice of venue, the unique Agreco Farms, a functional and authentic agricultural farm a few kilometers from the city of Rethymnon.

The Brief

Due to the special style that the couple wanted for their wedding in Crete, our proposals were quite specific. The natural element, trees, and stones are very prevalent in the area. The ceremony and the reception would take place in the main courtyard of Agreco, therefore the use of some decorative ambient lighting was one of the main choices. So, we divided the area into 2 parts. In the dining area and the dance floor. In the dining area, we used arbitrary arrays of fairy lights giving a little more depth to the area (and a little romantic light at the same time). For the dance floor, we used the all-time-classic string lights, which matched the surrounding area amazingly.

The Music Choices

Music was also a special element of this wedding. With a clear emphasis on the ’90s but also some basic additions of modern hits, we definitely had the right choice for a DJ. The one and only mr Aris Paradisas. Aris knew from the very first moment what he had to do. And he did it. He made the most of the party hours and managed to satisfy all ages and tastes. And this wasn’t an easy task to do. A fairly large dose of Soul – Funk – Motown music was the main component of his DJ set, while at regular intervals he returned to the present taking more modern and rnb / reggaeton paths.

Conclusion

So in the end, Daisy and Peter’s wedding was a wedding that we enjoyed unimaginably. After all the changes, the setbacks, the postponements, and the uncertainty this season has brought us, we truly believe that one way to keep fighting and not losing faith is simply by continuing to do what we love. What if we had to be a little more careful and necessarily farther away than we were used to. We continue actively but carefully, as we always did, after all.
