Both of them are types of lighting you have seen before. You are probably thinking about using either (or both) of them on your wedding in Greece. However we keep seeing sometimes that many couples confuse these two different types of lighting, since the look very similar to each other. So let us explain the differences between them.
String Lights
It is the classic garland luminary type of light we all know. Large transparent bulbs are hanging from a cable (that’s why it is called String Light), symmetrically spaced apart. They are also able to illuminate the space below them. You can also make it more appealing either by using some hanging lanterns or festoons, or by decorating the whole array (the cable itself) in co-operation with your wedding decorator.
The light it delivers is in most of the cases white, warm, enough to adequately illuminate even large spaces. It is used and installed correctly; it is also possible to adjust the brightness (intensity) of the String Lights.
Fairy Lights
We would say that you certainly know Fairy Lights much better. They are almost the same little lights we use in Christmas decorations and other home décor. They are made up of very small lamps in close proximity to each other. There are different sizes and colors depending on the result we want to achieve. Fairy Lights are not considered as much as a lighting application rather than a decoration element, since they are not very bright (compared to the String Lights). However, they are a very flexible decorative lighting solution since they can be installed relatively easily almost everywhere. They can be hung from trees, wrapped in pillars, form curtains or anything else you may imagine.
